In preparation for an upcoming high school reunion, some of my classmates have been posting capsule biographies to update each other about their lives since high school. Here is mine.
- 1989-1991: fail out of college several times
- 1992: work on crab-fishing boats in Alaska and then the Russian far east
- 1993: move to Seattle and meet my wife, Sandy
- 1993-1999: work various jobs and fumble around more with higher education
- 1999: marry Sandy and take a job in the computer industry in an attempt to become an actual adult
- 1999-2016: work stable jobs in the computer industry and slowly transition into an actual adult
- 2016-2017: quit job, immerse myself in martial arts training, and spend a lot of time in Brazil
- 2017-2024: work for Google and support Sandy’s pursuit of a master’s degree in structural engineering
- future: learn, do, learn, do, learn, write, repeat
I look forward to a continued life of practicing new skills with friends…

… and having Sandy make silly faces while sitting on my butt.
